Has anyone had their baby in the new birth suite at Lewisham? I'm keen to hear what you thought.

Friend of mine did. She said it was amazing. Good luck with your choice.

Until recently I was a member of a pregnancy yoga group in Blackheath and a lot of the women in the class gave birth at the new suite. It has had brilliant reviews and the yoga instructor was really enamoured with it. I was sort of reluctant to move after the reviews I'd heard! If I was there now it would be top of my list I think - and I'd been put off Lewisham previously due to a bad experience at the gynae ward there.
Hope this helps

Thanks! I'm so glad to hear such positive reviews. It's definitely top of my list.

I was meant to but had to switch to the hospital. The birth centre looks absolutely amazing though and the midwives are lovely. I wish I'd been able to use it. It has fantastic reviews from stories I've heard.

I had my baby at Lewisham Birth Centre last year and it was great. The facilities and staff were lovely and it was just such a quiet, calm environment to be in - dimmed lights, radio on etc. My hubby and I left with our baby girl not having seen a single other patient or doctor. It was totally fab and I would highly recommend it! I was initially booked in at QE but changed when I was 36 weeks pregnant. A bit of a distance from home, especially as you'll have your last few antenatal appointments there but totally worth it.
Good luck!

Am a SE Ldn girl and currently booked in at QE. Could choose there or Lewisham though. Am only 10 weeks so a bit early but - what is a birthing suite...? And how does this differentiate from what there is at QE? Is Lewisham better than QE?

Info on the birth centre is on this website if that helps.
