C section 19 days ago - started bleeding again - advice?

Hi All
Am waiting for my MW to call me back, but it won't be until this afternoon so wondered if any of you lovely ladies could help?
I had a c section 19 days ago, and the bleeding stopped after a couple of dys and I just had a bit of brown discharge, only needed a liner (sorry if TMI!) However in the last 3 days I'd had quite big bleeds again and am having to use mat pads. Do you think it could be my period ? I am BFing so thought that was unlikely...
any thoughts welcome!

I had a c section 12 weeks ago and it is not unusual for your bleeding to recommence after it has been less or even stopped - at least that is what I was told when it happened to me!

Wouldn't be your period until after a minimum of 21 days post partum. It's more likely that your lochia has started up again, mine did this, stop/start until DD was 4 weeks old, then period turned up at 11 weeks, which is late for me, DS1&2 it was 6-8 weeks for period. Most likely you've been doing a bit to much, if it does get really heavy and you're soaking through pads get in contact with your mw or local hospital as you can have a secondary post partum heamorage (sp?) just to be on the safe side.

I had a c-section last year and this sounds normal. It will be up and down for a few weeks and even light activity can affect the flow.
