3cm dilated but no contractions...!?!

Hi,
funny enough I'm looking for some advice...!

I'm 40wk3d, sweep on Friday 1-2 cm as I had some contractions, cramping, back ache and a show earlier in the week. Follow up check yesterday and I was 3 cm dilated.

I've had 2 shows in the last 24 hours, 1) bloody jelly based 2) same as before but more brown based. Currently i'm having some brown discharge jelly based but not that heavy.

But no contractions..nothing, is the normal Hmm ? Mild aches and pains but nothing steady..I've also not had any BH. MW has asked me to keep an eye on things.

I fully understand this is generally the longest part of the birthing process and may last anywhere from one to three days. But god what a drag! Does this mean things might develop quite quickly later? Been advised i'll be induced this week if nature doesn't get going Sad

Has anyone else had this..??

Thanks

Not happened to me, but I've heard of it happening and in those cases they did ARM which kicked things off.

You might still get going spontaneously, but I would say in the meantime, rest up while you can and try to forget about it. Go for a nice meal, watch some DVDs (remember OFP though, sit forward leaning on a beanbag, not slouched back), maybe potter in the kitchen and make some muffins for labour snacks. Nap regularly as you might be up in the middle of the night.

You could try crab walking (sideways up stairs or a small hill) which might help your waters to go and move things along, but don't overdo it and wear yourself out.

Thanks FutureNanny

DH and I went for a 2 mile walk today, and it did have a small hill..but for me it seemed quite steep Smile
Also fell asleep on the sofa this afternoon ,which never happens..DH told me I was snoring so clearly I had a good snooze.

Does leaning forward on beanbag, open up my pelvis. I'm guessing thinking UFO...Upright, Forward and Open.
