Does the overhang belly you get with a CS disappear?

I never really thought about it before my CS 3 weeks ago, but does that little overhang you get above your scar ever go or is that the shape of my belly from now on?

mine went flat after my first c section but sadly seems to be still hanging around 20 months after my second! :(

i am really slim (size 8 and about seven stone 10) and look fine in clothes but the overhang is noticeable when i am not. DH doesnt seem to notice or mind though, he still finds me sexy :o

CrapBag · 27/02/2011 20:05

Its not a bump, definitely an overhang.

I am fully prepared for it to take time to go. It took me 2 years to loose all the weight after I had DS, I know there is no rush for these things but after always being a size 10 on the bottom half, I was hoping this little belly would eventually go away. I bought new clothes just before I got pregnant and would like to wear them again. Grin

I have an overhang and I hate it!! HAd section with 1st and natural with 2nd . think it's due to a bad stitch up maybe? even when i lost a stone i still had it and i hate it!!!!!!

I was told that the long vertical stomach muscles were stretched apart like a pair of braces, and how well they went back decided whether you got an overhang.

Yup, I've got one Hmm

anniepanniepears · 27/02/2011 20:30

no never

whomovedmychocolate · 27/02/2011 20:31

Yes - I have had two caesarians, one botched with an incisional hernia and have a totally flat stomach.

The mummy apron thing responds well to leg raises btw.

I've still got mine after 7 years, and the area is numb to the touch. I am lazy lardarse though.

snakesandladders · 27/02/2011 20:31

yes mine did, pilates and time (lots of it talking a good few years)did the trick.

Chippychop · 27/02/2011 22:53
