42 weeks on monday, being induced. Third baby, DS1 and DS2 labour started naturally. Bit apprehensive.. dont want to refuse induction tho (I know I can). Have tried all natural methods (inc 3 sweeps) but nothing occuring.
Last check on fri cervix softish but still quite posterior and only about 1 cm, only 50% effaced.
Anyone been in a similar sit? How did it go? Thanks.

FDTLuckyMumma I had the same, I would be induced on Sunday unless something happens.
I also tried all natural methods (inc 3 sweeps) - going for the 4th now on Thursday. The cerviz is too far now and the sweeps, although painful, cannot be well performed.

So, let's just sit and relax...

I have a horrible induction story - was induced at 40 weeks because my waters broke and the labour was not progressing (according to midwives!). The actual induction process is absolutely horrible especially when done without any pain-relief. The contractions came VERY VERY fast and labour was very quick (3 hours) but it was so intense and painful, that I would NEVER choose to be induced again (not that I had a choice this time!?). I had a massive haemorrhage after the birth and a retained placenta, which are both the results of induction - this resulted in a lot of antibiotics, blood transfusion and a number of days in hospital after the birth.
NEVER again! Induction is not for me.

Induced last night at 9pm because of worsening pre eclampsia. Waters broke at 2am, had half dose of pessery at 3am, 1-2cm, 5.30am started using gas & air, delivered at 6.50am, about 8 minutes of pushing. Second degree tear.

Midwives fab, listened to how I was feeling and gave good advice.

Hi all. DD arrived at 949 on mon night! Prostin at 9am. 3 cm dil at 3 pm and 2 nd lot of prostin. Contractions ( mildish) started around 5 ish.... Asked for gas at 845 as had to be monitored and hate lying down in labour. Forgot how lush g& a is!! Examined at 930 and was 5 cm. Aneasthetist called for epi. Waters went few mins later and involuntary pushing..... Was fully dil and few mins pushing and she out.... 19 mins from 5 cm to out! Needless to say no time for epi..... Apparently aneathatist laughing other side of door cos mw shouting he not needed and me shouting he is!
A million miles away from other 2 births.... Fantastic v kind and capable midwives made it so much better as I was relaxed. V intense experience but I know how easy I had it and how lucky I was. Def no more kids tho can you imagine?
Plus... No stitches.
So..... Induction can be great!
