Losing the plug!

I'm due on Thursday but I haven't had any symptons or signs of baby coming.

I have no contractions but I do have a normal yellowish discharge, which is not as heavy as I thought it might be. Could this be the mucus plug I'm losing little by little? Or this show needs to be a green/pink/brown-like discharge?

Anyway...I will enjoy of my spa day before it's too late!

Hi Paula - I'm due Sunday and I too have a thickish yellowish discharge (oh the things we share with strangers on here ). I don't think it's a show which I would imagine is much thicker? This is my third pregnancy and I have never seen my plug or had a show before so I will watch this thread with interest to see if it is something else for me to obsess about as a sign labour might be near .....

Oh and enjoy your spa day, if anything will encourage baby to turn up, that will!!

I am on baby 3, due Monday, think I had a show this arvo' mixed in with yellow discharge was a pinky stain, didn't look like blood and wasn't very thick, but I'm not sure had what was def' a show with last baby, but was in bath at time after having a sweep by mw and saw this flesh colour tinged glob floating in bath, screamed and dp had to fish it out laughing! But it was nothing like today, so I'm assuming it can be any colour or amount depending on how much comes away??? Hope it a sign that something is moving down there guys these febuary babies are taking there time! I thought baby 3 would have slid down the exit slide weeks ago :)

Surprisingly, someone has actually stored a picture of a mucus plug on Google Images - just type it in.

Not sure why someone would do that, but at least I now know what it's meant to look like!

I was due on 13th and at +4 I thought my waters had broken as I was very wet down there. Went to the hospital and they said it was normal discharge and usual when thebody gets itself ready for birth, so it could be that. Mind you, I'm now +11 and still waiting - no more discharge though!

That's interesting Plumm as I have been er a bit wet down there too. I so hope my body is gearing up for something as I have had enough now . I've 4 days til due date and have not been late with my other two. I feel for you going over, surely the baby will have to come out for you soon - good luck!

I'm due tomorrow and this morning I had more yellow discharge but again, it wasn't pink or brown. It's more like the yellowish discharge you have when you are ovulating.

And yes, some people have posted some pictures of their mucus plugs! Nice! I left the laptop open the other day while cooking, and DH saw those pictures and I heard an instant: What the hell is this? - Hilarious...My husband is a very quiet and sweet person but I think seeing that disgusted him so much - Poor them at the end of the day. I wouldn't ask him to fish it out of the bath if I lose it there...poor them!

And I recommend a good spa before! I had mine yesterday - It was a facial treatment and then with the four products I bought to keep on pampering myself I ended up spending like £150 (felt guilty) - and it felt soooo nice!

Las tnight I woke up thinking tomorrow is the due date. I couldn't sleep after that and thought I would do lots of things today to pamper myself even more! I won't do lots of cleaning or cooking....let's enjoy ourselves while feeling like hypos!

strangeways good luck to you too, hope your not waiting to long now :) my dp has many strings to his bow, he can now add mucus plug fishing to his cv [grins]

I had a show last night and mine was alot yuckier than the picture I saw on Google images. I wasn't sure if I would know when the time can but I definitely knew what it was you couldn't mistake it. It was quite substantial and a mix of red blood, brown blood and what looked like semen (!) obviously everyone is different though.
