Private hospital & consultants in London

I'm looking for a private consultant and hospital in London. Lindo Wing would be my preference, but is closed and I'm due early October. Has anyone had any recent experience at the Lansdell Suite, Kensington Wing (private part of ChelWest but quite far from north london...) or Queen Charlottes and Chelsea private ward? I'm struggling with some recommendations - so far for Con Kelleher, Tariq Miskry and Guy Thorpe-Beeston. I've heard you need to book fast and am worried I will miss out if I can't decide soon. Thanks!

A friend had two children at the Lansdell with Mr Kelleher and was very happy. her youngest just turned 3.
C&W is lovely, has been refurbed recently, Keith Duncan/Nick Wales very good among others - someone else recommended GTB as wonderful too - her children are older - sure he still is though. But I would stick with Lansdell if much closer to you.

Guy Thorpe Beeston is excellent. He does only elective c-sections at Kensington Wing, but all births at Portland. If you are looking at Kensington Wing, then Mark Johnson, Zoe Penn and Gubby Aiyda get booked up the quickest. Roger Marwood, Nick Wales and Keith Duncan are also very popular. It depends on what you are after in a consultant really. If you want details, pls PM me...

Guy Thorpe Beeston is definitely the very best recommended by Alan Farthing the Queens gynaecologist who he shares consulting rooms with at 148 Harley Street (specialist scanning and diagnostics opened by Duchess of Wessex. Deliveries at Portland and Kensington ward. But he gets booked up 8 months in advance!... so you may not get him. Check out Amazon he's written books on fetal medicine and scanning and lectures as well. If you can't get him ask his office for a recommendation. Tariq Mistry is his stand in at the same offices who is probably almost as good.

I delivered with Miskry last year in the Lindo Wing as did my sister in law. My other sister in law delivered with Thorpe Beeston a few years ago. They are both very good although with very different bedside manners. I would recommend Miskry wholheartedly. He is very warm and just incredibly good at what he does. I was a nervous pregnant woman due to a history of miscarriage and he was just very reassuring and knowledgeable. I also had the most incredible labour with him. My sister in law had a c-section and his surgical experience is second to none -- her scar is barely visible one year onwards.

My other sister in law had Thorpe Beeston for first two children and while she really liked him she did mention he was a bit more reserved.

I would really recommend having some initial consultations. I met with four other consultants before making my final choice (teoh, etienne horner, and another whose name I can't remember!).

However, I would dispute your comment that it's "easy to become a doctor these days"...it really isn't, financially, academically or emotionally!
