I know I should know, but really can't remember. The hospital is twenty mins away, (if the traffic is ok).

Is the norm to wait until contractions are five mins apart?
This is obviously if no waters broken or show, etc.

I'd say you shouldn't wait to go in if you worrying. That won't do either of you any good. Are you due now?

Ask your midwife - I think different hospitals have different policies. My local hospital wouldn't let me go in until contractions were 3 mins apart for a first birth. Their advice would probably also depend on whether your first and second birth were quick or slow - if your first was 8 hours, and your second was 4 hours, your third will be probably even quicker and they might want you in sooner than if your previous births were much longer.

Thanks for replies. Official due date is tomorrow. Had false alarms the last two nights, contractions (not painful enough to be serious, but painful enough to wake me up and have to breathe through them.)
Then in the daytime, everything stopped. So frustrating!
dd - 13 hours
ds -(only 18 months ago) 6 hours
So this one could be quicker.
