Erm - signs that you are about to go into labour?

I'm 38 weeks today, due for c-section next week.

I feel very very anxious and have been for the last few days, really teary, tired and generally not happy (you know the normal at the end of pregnancy)

Today, I've been lying on the sofa all day with DD, sleeping sporadically on and off, feel like crap, supposed to have gone out tonight but haven't, my bits hurt (sorry TMI), I'm sitting in my dressing gown and just feel weird.

Can't work out if its because I'm so tired, or about to go into labour. I feel a pressure down below and like I want to wee, but I don't need to

Baby keeps doing odd moves and I'm getting tightenings when she does it, but not painful. A little bit achey is all.

I'm convinced this baby is coming early - but maybe it's me convincing myself as my DD was born 3 weeks early by c-section also and I've never been this far along.

So basically what did you feel like before labour?

For me it was vomiting lots but with no nausea.

I just knew it was going to happen in the next few hours - I can't be any more specific than that but I definitely had all your symptoms.

Spidermama · 10/02/2011 20:33

All my birth lead ups were different but with number three I felt similar to what you're describing.

Good luck. x

Yep, I know this feeling, just unsettled, can't put your finger on it, but not happy bunny.

I felt just as you described for a couple of days before dd arrived. Can you have a walk around the house, since it's a bit nippy out, just to see if walking helps you feel more comfortable.

Good luck with it all!

Weird pressure down below, like baby was about to fall out (difficult to walk) and i just knew it was fully engaged. Labour started the following day. I'd also had loose stools (sorry, TMI!) for about a week.
Good luck!

Oh, and i had the strange feeling that time was literally about to run out to get all those little jobs done - nesting, big time! DS was a week early.

THanks, baby still in there although I went to bed last night feeling very worried that I was going to be awoken in the middle of the night. Felt minor aches and pains, but that's probably baby stretching.

In a way I hope baby doesn't come yet as it will be an emergency c-section :(

Just written a load of to-do lists, ordered some stuff online, tidied up round the place, am now writing my birth plan and going to do the ironing, then off to pick up DD from school. Going to double check my hospital bags as well. Something very strange happening here :)

Feeling wide awake now!

hey, I had a show after lots of walking so I knew it would happen soon. Plus I was 10 days overdue at this point. Other than not sleeping I had very few other signs it was going to happen.

Good luck
