First baby and I was v excited as - after a couple of weeks of on-off contractions - I had regular contractions for two days, gradually working down from 2 hours apart, to 5 minutes and just starting to get stronger and more intense when...

They just stopped!

I'm so miffed Angry

Good luck! They will be back. Hope you got some decent sleep.

If it's any consolation I called DH back from work 300 miles away at 3am this morning because I was convinced I was in labour. This is my 3rd and had been advised by midwife to call him at first twinge. I had lots and some proper contractions. I called him. He is now home after a 5 hr drive. And zip. Zilch. Nada. I have resorted to scrubbing the kitchen floor on my hands and knees in an attempt to get things going. He may have to go back...

It's ok, you've had a bit of a warm up, your cervix is getting prepared, so stuff is happening even if you can't tell on the outside. Now your body is resting up for the main event.
Chill out, don't wear yourself out trying to encourage things along. Maybe just a little walk if you feel like it, then have a film marathon (remember ofp when you are getting comfy)

Still nada Sad, just some twinges and the odd bit of backache. Baby is going mental though, kicking seven shades of bejeezus out of my innards!

I'm trying really hard not to have a massive sulk!
