Good Afternoon

Dorel UK is the parent company that deals with distribution & after sales service for Maxi Cosi UK amongst other top name baby product brands.

Please note that the information that has been found was publicised last year in March 2010, shortly after the Maxi Cosi Family Fix base was originally released.

At the time, we not only publicised the statement on our webpage but we also contacted customers via e-mail and telephone and all retailers of the Maxi Cosi Family Fix base were advised. In addition we took out advertisements in local newspapers with regards to this.

All customers of the potentially affected Family Fix base were contacted at the time and their bases returned to our engineers to safety check.

Please be assured that this was successfully carried out and we are satisfied that we managed to contact every single person who had purchased a base which was potentially affected. Of all the bases we checked, a tiny amount were found to have the potential problem and were immediately replaced for the customers.

Maxi Cosi & Dorel do take child safety very seriously and we are confident that there are no longer any Family Fix bases around which are potentially affected.

Should you have any further questions please do not hesitate to make contact with me.

Thank You.

Hello There,
We purchased ours in October 2010 from a companyy named Groovy Style.
Is it safe to assume we purchased a model post the recall and therefore it's safe?

Perhaps it would be a good idea on the Maxi Cosi website to state that this recall has already taken place so doesn't or shouldn't affect new purchases.

Thank you for responding.
Lou

Hi there

The recall only affected Family Fix bases produced within a two week period in March 2010.

Any purchases made after the recall will have been confirmed safe prior to sale.

Thanks.
