Well, had a sweep at 40 weeks - last Monday and it didn't do very much, except make my eyes water a lot and set me up for winning Mrs Grumpy of the Year...MW was lovely tho...

Have been chuffing down pineapples as though I were a Sainsburys shareholder and nothing...

Keep getting warned that it 'could be REALLY quick' as it's no.3...so a bit panicked at that...

Consultant appt tomorrow (as we are finally at the end of our latest high risk pg)...

Lots of BHs, but still no flamming baby....

Hope to heck it either comes tonight, or they book me for an induction for Tuesday...yes I know it will really hurt, but I think my tendons are going to stretch beyond repair if the darling baby doesn't come out soon Wink

Anyone else?

Me too, 3rd pregnancy, had a sweep on Thursday and they tell me things were "favourable" a show and mucous plug the following morning and lots of more uncomfortable BH's...I thought I was off!! but since Saturday, nothing!!Sad

Got second sweep tomorrow, and maybe induced on Thursday so it,s not long either way, but how can 4 days go SO slowly?!!!

Still it's kind of exciting too, I guess...
maybe you had more luck overnight and are currently nursing your beautiful newborn..

Good luck both of you! I am on my third, had lots of cramps and BH's for the last two nights so got all excited - and nothing! I am frustrated adn I am not even late.

Fingers crossed it all happens soon for you.

I'm 40 +13 today and off to hospital in 30 mins or so for induction. Dreading it as DD was a natural labour, but I'm now at the point where I can barely move! I had a sweep last week (all favorable) I've had loads of BH, show, loads of signs but no actual labour. Grrr, so frustrating. Good luck, hope it happens for you soon.

bitingfairy, good luck for today, I had induction with one of mine and went really smoothly, I think when you're ready, as you sound like you are, induction happens pretty quickly and without needing too much medical intervention. How exciting, you get to meet your little one today Smile..

StrangewaysHereICome · 07/02/2011 10:36

Best of luck Biting I am sure that as everything was favourable it should go well. Oooh you'll be holding your bubs soon Smile.

Hope all is well biting -

I saw the consultant on Monday and got them to agree to an induction on Weds (tomorrow) and cannot WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!! Would have gone that pm, but they were all busy!

I think if my tendon loosen up anymore I'm not going to be walking - bending down ATM is almost impossible and getting back up again from sitting on the floor or anything - don't even askBlush

I know I'm not the youngest mummy in the world, but hadn't anticipated walking sticks just yet Grin

Well good luck everyone and hopefully I will be holding a bundle of noisy joy v. v. soon.

xx

Me too! I'm only 3 days overdue, but I went into early labour on Sunday afternoon, show Sunday night, contractions getting progressively stronger and closer together, midwife said it was definitely happening, until Tuesday evening - and then they just stopped!

So miffed - partly because me and DH were very excited about finally getting to meet her and partly because she hasn't stopped kicking me in the liver for the last three-four months, which is apparently harmless but it really bloody hurts!

So fed up, really wanted an ice cold vodka tonic, but I'm not allowed. Maybe I should follow the advice of my lovely elderly neighbours, who keep telling me they kicked off labour with a couple of stiff martinis (I love old folks Grin), but I don't think the MW would be impressed if I show up at hospital smelling like an alky...

Can I jump in here too please? I'm 40+3 with DC1 and am totally bored. Baby well down and getting odd Braxton Hicks and period type cramps but mostly nothing at all. Baby is moving well so am not worried though.
I can't really go for long walks because of spd and I've eaten a whole pineapple today.
So so bored.
