Birthing Stool

Hi all

This is a rather hopeful message really- was wondering if anybody knows anybody in the midlands area who (for a nominal fee and maybe bottle of wine?!) would be happy to loan a birthing stool to us in June.

I've found plenty to hire and buy for BIG prices!

No problems if not-we have a loo after all!

Many thanks.

do you have a bidet? Or if you can't get a birthing stool what about hiring a comode?

I almost gave birth while sitting on the toiet. My poor daughter almost had an unplanned water birth!

My new house a bidet and I will sit on that if I have third.

Ah nice one. Thanks so much for these suggestions.

Bidet eh?! Fabulous! Don't have one myself but could imagine that working quite well....

I LOVED sitting on the toilet last time so am investigating smaller portable solutions that can be ferried about 'round the house easily.

Thanks for reply!

What about the plastic low stools you can get from pound shops. They don't have the cut out bit but we use them in yoga and I can imagine them being ok in labour perched off the edge a bit. Try one for size!

Yeah, the small IKEA one is definitely the best thing I've found so far! Cheers!
