Post c-section discomfort 13 weeks on,

I had DS2 13 weeks ago by elective c-section (as I had placenta previa). Afterwards I had a bleed on the ward but the doctor was able to steri-strip/glue the wound so I didn't need to go theatre again. After that the wound healed fairly quickly and I recovered well being pretty active by 3 weeks. The only problem I have now is that the right side of the scar sometimes gets very tender especially if I've been lifting (e.g car seat) - it feels like something is pulling inside rather than on the surface. Is this normal after 13 weeks? - generally I feel pretty good but sometimes the tenderness gets quite bad. Would welcome any others experiences/views as to whether I should be concerned.

Thanks

I had the pulling sensation for about 4 or 5 months afterwards. I'm not sure what caused it, but it did go. I don't know if my pulling sensation was the same as yours though.

Why don't you go to the docs to be on the safe side?

Hi,
I still get pulling / aches on the inside at the end of my scar nearly 4yrs on. Take it easy if you do too much it can make scar tissue inside if it does not settle down. I pushed for a physio appointment which they lost and it was 6mths before I got to see the physio by which point the scar tissue had formed. If any doubt go see the GP and ask whether you need exercises to strength your insides to help 'hold' the tum bits together. Pilates is fantastic at strengthing your core muscles which help 'ping' back all your tum (took 5inches of my waist in a year) and help support the area above the scar. Just 10mins a day of simple pelvic floor / pilates type exercises can really help.

Hi all - thanks for your replies - was deliberating whether to go to GP so may go now just to get it checked. Used to love pilates but the classes I went to closed - sounds like I need to pull my finger out and find a new one!!!!
