Do they let you use plugged in things in hospital that you bring from home? I'm envisaging a stay for a couple of days post birth due to pg issues - don't want to run out of ipod power while stuck in hospital (especially if long labour) but not sure if hospitals let you charge these things up. Btw, can't rely on DH to charge these things post labour as he'll be staying with me at hospital afterwards.

I charged my phone up no problem.

Charged phone and had own radio without any problems.

Yep, def take in your chargers, you don't want either running out on you. They have power points by each bed (or they did in my hospital anyway). Don't know if you'll have a chance to use your ipod after baby is born mind you Wink

Yes you should be able to charge up phone/ipod without a problem. I did.
Not sure about your DH being able to stay with you though.. unless you have made special arrangements? With DS1 we had a private room as DS was born with problems and even so they still chucked DH out late evening due to policy. Pretty sure its the same everywhere in UK tbh

tallulah we're at a brand new all own rooms NHS hospital and apparently DHs can stay in room for 24 hrs after (they have to sleep in a chair and get no food though!). Apparently they lock the hospital at 9pm so if he's still there after then he's stuck with me for the night whether he likes it or not!! Wink

Wow, that sounds good, would have really liked to have had DH there with me that first night. Hope all goes well for you

Wish I was going to your hospital! Smile

DH having to leave an hour after I got to the ward was one of the worse things for me last time.

snowangels1 · 02/02/2011 08:28

Shock to crapbag - that would have really upset me too Confused

I was in absolute bits and just cried my eyes out. Visiting finished at 8pm and I didn't get up to the maternity ward until 7pm so we had an hour then he had to leave.

This time I'm having an ELCS in the morning so at least I know DH will be around for a lot of the day then.
