didn't it only open this week? surely anyone who's been there only just about home again.

are you due to go there SBP?

my baby days are over but anything has got to be an improvement on the orchard centre 6yrs ago. there was a reason i had the next 2 at chelt's clu.

SkyBluePearl · 25/01/2011 22:36

oh heck - though it had opened earlier this month. I'm due to go next month. Not sure what to expect.

I think it opened about 2 weeks ago.

I haven't, but I have a friend who was shown round before it opened.

She said it was all Spangler and new. It sounds likes different set up from before though. Whereas you used to give birth in a delivery room and then be moved to suffer the post natal ward, apparently the plan now is that you stay in the room you delivered in until yo are discharged, unless you are staying longer.

I don't know if they are still offering tours if you are due to deliver there soon.

Barbeasty · 27/01/2011 08:58

That should be spangley, and not a random auto-replace word!

TheNewStig · 27/01/2011 10:44

SBP - iirc the clinic/out patients/scans part opened a couple of weeks before the actual delivery ward. doesn't your midwife know more?

try the virtual tour on here maybe?

Thanks girls. My local unit the is the MW led Stroud unit -which is lovely but only for low risk people.

Hi skybluepearl - another Stroudie here! My friend is a senior midwife at new glos unit -she says its really lovely and is trying to persuade us all to have more babies!
I was high risk - twins! So had to go to the old glos. unit - VILE!!
I moved to Stroud after 48 hours - LOVELY!!!

skybluepearl · 27/01/2011 19:47

Thanks Candleshoe. It helps put my mind at rest to hear something good about the unit. I was a bit worried that all the change might have created mayhem in glos.
