Who used a caesarean belt after and felt it was worthwhile (or not)?

I have due to have an ELCS very soon.

Looking at the support belt on the mothercare website. Has anyone used it and really felt that it was worthwhile? I don't want to spend £20 on something that may be a waste of money as I can't afford to waste a penny at the moment but if it is beneficial, then it will be worth it.

I also have a toddler, will it help protect my stomach from DS?

I wouldn't bother. You need pants and pajamas which come up over your tummy. You really want to avoid anything with a low waistband that will sit on your wound as that is really uncomfortable. I just wore lots of high waisted white knickers for the first couple of weeks. White is quite important so that you can see any seepage from the wound immediately and check there is no infection. Good luck. I am sure it will be fine. Mine was am EMCS and I made a good recovery.

I didn't bother either and I was fine without it.
Good luck!

I won't bother then. £20 is a lot for something that will only be (possibly) used for a few weeks and never again.
