How likely is it....

That I will go into natural labour? I am 40+5 with dc4. I was induced at 34+4 with DD due to pre-eclampsia, had 3x pessaries, syntocinon drip and ARM, DD was born 24 hrs later.

I was induced at 39+4 with DS1 due to hyperemesis, 2x pessaries, syntocinon drip and ARM, he was born 3 days later. (Long labour due to very bad position, should have been a C-sec).

I was induced at 40+2 with DS2, only needed one pessary and no drip. Had to have ARM. He was born with the help of ventouse ( very large head), labour was 5 hrs start to finish.

Soooooo....If I've never gone into natural labour, have had to be induced every time, and have had to have ARM every time, so my waters have never broken on their own...how likely is it that I will go into natural labour this time?

I'm only asking because I'm getting desperate to get this baby out, being 40+5, and I have no induction date booked, I see the Consultant on Monday, when I'll be 41+1, but that's not an induction date - that's when they'll book an induction date. The hospital is very short staffed at the moment due to staff sickness (know MW's that work there), and they have told me it could be up to 8 days after my consultant appt. before I get induced. By which point I would be 42+2. I don't want to wait that long.

Does anyone have any stats on the likelyhood of me going into natural labour after 3 inductions?

Don't have any stats for you, but lots of sympathy, I know the torture of going so far over your dates. Longest two weeks of my life. I'm sure someone will be along in a minute to point out that you're not actually overdue until you are 42 weeks, you are allowed to growl at these people, it may be true but it doesn't help!

If anyone tells me that I'm not overdue until 42 weeks...I may be forced to rip their heads off. Or worse. As far as I'm concerned, anything over 40 weeks is overdue, as I know the exact day I fell pregnant!!!

Loudlass i'm not sure if this will make you feel better but that is my intention.
In the first series of one born every minute there was a woman who had had 4 children and said she would need to have ARM. As the widwife was preparing ect to do this the woman waters went spontaously. Obviously this is not a scientific study but i thought is was intresting.

Hopefully something will happen this weekend
