In pain but nothing regular. Am I in for days of torture?

I am 39 weeks and last night had bad pain in my back. Woke up this morning with pain in my tummy. Now I have both but it is constant pain rather than anything with a rhythm.

Could this go on for days?

fraid so!

I got terrible back pain once the baby dropped really low, and then was in pain from a UTI which felt like no other UTI I'd had before (only had 2) apparently they feel v different when you're pg...

That's what I thought, I can hardly walk about and it's driving me nuts. Keep thinking I need to poo but don't. Must just be the pressure.

Is it on and off? or literally just constant?

neepsntatties · 21/01/2011 18:02

It does come and go a bit but is sore for long periods.

Maybe try a laxative? Might be tummy problem rather than labour?

neepsntatties · 21/01/2011 18:10

I did a poo this morning so think am ok. There's no glamour in pregnancy is there!

nope!

I'm 39+4 so I can very much sympathise!

Pootles2010 · 21/01/2011 20:37

Fraid not. I had a long conv (high on gas + air) with midwife where I was convinced I was going to poo on the hosp bed, she knew it was the baby, but I was so convinced...

Pootles2010 · 23/01/2011 19:40

Any further pains neeps?

cookingfat · 23/01/2011 21:41

I've got the opposite - regular contractions, but they're not really painful - more uncomfortable. Every 10 mins all day - wish they'd speed up!!

neepsntatties · 24/01/2011 07:08

Lots of backache mainly And then at night it's my cervix/groin area too. It's not as bad if I do absolutely nothing all day which feels rubbish. In my first pregnancy I was still walking 40 mins everyday, this time I can hardly walk up the stairs!

I had hoped something might be happening but nada so far, am just sore and fed up.

Cooking fat that sounds annoying!

Also am having to walk around with a hot water bottle tucked into my bum which is not a good look!

cooking fat - i has that for 2 days before they speeded up, but DS was born 4 hours after going in to hospital so those days obvioulsy helped!

Goodluck
