Does a mild cystocele affect sex life? And advice for healing...

I've just had my six week check up and it was confirmed that I've had a v mild cystocele. Thankfully, I don't have any bladder issues and no real discomfort - the doc could see the wall bulging in a bit, but no sign of bladder etc.

I've been doing pelvics relentlessly and will of course keep doing them (i was doing them throughout pregnancy too)

Any other tips for strengthening the wall? My mum suggested inserting the cones...?

And will it affect my sex life? I've not attempted it yet but want to...

Congrats on your new baby.

Has your GP referred you to a physio? I'm seeing a uro-gynae physio for my problems (retocele, nerve damage) and it's really helped. She's showed me how to do the exercises more effectively. And I have a machine to use (lovely).

No referrals, but I think I'll see one anyway...no urinary issues as yet

How's sex? Wink

Ummm, fine thanks. For someone with a baby that doesn't sleep for more than a couple of hours, anyway. Grin

Seriously, do go back to the doctor if you have any concerns.

I have a mild rectocele, and it doeasn't affect my sex life, although bumlove is off the menu forever more.

it's not healed in nearly 5 years, but is now distincly NOT bulging out (it used to, when i was sitting or standing. I still have to, er, poo in a certain position though.

Glad to hear things are better for you, coldtits.

My physio says that the best position for a poo is to lean forward and say 'idge'. Yes, that's right.

And so I find myself discussing poo with internet sprites. Tis a funny old world, eh?

There is a big thread on rectocele and cystocele on the health board. More detail than you will ever need! It is also international.
