problems after a retained placenta

hi, had my baby 15 weeks ago now in about 1hr and 20 mins after getting to the hospital..then imy placenta didnt come away and i had to go to theatre etc... at my check after 10weeks i was still bleeding so i needed a scan. they found a small bit still in there about 1.5cm. i went in hospital and they decided not to do an op cus its so small. so i went home on antis. i had 2 weeks off bleeding, and now im bleeding again, had really bad cramps so it might be my period but im not sure as its still pinky red in colour but a little darker. not sure if it is one or its cus of the bit thats left. i cant even remember wot a period is like now days. my doc told me it usully means that when u stop bleeding the body is getting rid of it itself? has anyone heard about this if its happened to you? and what periods are like if anyone has had it before and wot i should do about it as the docs will not even scan me now and i have not heard from the gynie? i just dont fancy getting ill with it while having 2 kids to look after??

Hi Tazzycat - not something you need to worry about right now with a new one and another child... definitely phone the gynie & discuss it - if he/she is not around pester the secretary to put you on to another one & explain the situation.
I had a retained placenta after my 3rd baby, and altho it all came away properly when they knocked me out first time, it's not something that you want to mess around with. If this is not your period (can you remember how long it took to have a period after your first baby?) it may need just more anti-bs to knock it on the head.

hi, with my last is was like 4 weeks after but hes was normal it all came away, but i guess with bleeding for so long put it off for a while till it stopped i dont know? if this is a period its slowed down big time, hardly there now and no pain or any other signs now... so maybe it is and it is that colour cus of the placenta in it i have to pass on that too.... seeing my doc next friday to see wots going on, as i know she was chasing it up for me....
