Am I in labour?

I know there are a few posts like this but having read them, I'm still not sure. With my first labour, my waters broke and then I went into labour and it was all quite clear. This time, not so straightforward!

Am due today and had a membrane sweep at about 3.45pm. Started getting period type pains from about an hour later. Still coming but not getting any stronger. Have been having tightenings for the past week or so and MW said I am 3cms. Can anyone offer an opinion - labour or false alarm?

If you are dilated then you are in labour. Early labour can feel like period pains which eventually get stronger over time. Both the births of my DD's were almost completely different. Nothing went as planned with DD1 but all happened almost by the book with DD2.
Both my labours were very quick but I also experienced tightenings leading up to the actual labour.
Good luck and I wish you a quick birth and recovery! Smile

sounds like early labour to me Smile but even with a second this can go on for some time!

Try and get some rest and hopefully things will kick off big time during the night for you.

either way, it won't be too long; Good Luck Smile

SecondComing Interesting that you should mention weepy day! I've not heard of that before. I'm 40+3 today and yesterday I had the biggest cry for no reason in the morning! It just rushed over me like a wave.
Felt really wierd afterwards. Hope its a sign! Grin

Good Luck OP Wink

Thanks all :)

Disappointingly it came to nothing and I've had no more twinges this morning :(

Booked in for reflexology tomorrow and off to clean my house - again!

clairemgill I feel your frustration, come wallow in self pity on the "anyone due on the 16th" thread.
I'm 40+3 today and resigned myself to the fact that baby no.2 may come as late as DC1 (40+8) Sad

I keep cleaning the house in preparation for the bubba and then it becomes unclean and unready again so its like a hamster on a wheel! Hmm

Thanks TetttyLouBar Grin. I'll check it out!
