Hi Angie, I am feeling nervous about impending induction also, I am 7 days overdue wit my 3rd and have not been in this position before.

I started a thread earlier about refusing induction and lots of people posted with very positive experiences about thier inductions, saying thier births were quick and not much different from thier non induced ones. They key seemed to be keeping active.

Can you ask them to give you a sweep first to see if that gets things going?

DC1 was on my spine and it was very uncomfortable. Hopefully, if you are 4 cm already it will happen quickly. Good luck tomorrow and am sure some people will be along with some positive induction stories.

Angie, just wanted to say I was in exactly this position 9 weeks ago today with dc3. Like you had not needed to be induced before and was terrified.

I was induced with rupture of membranes, my baby was also lying back to back. Labour was fine and very quick, just 1hr40mins. Good luck, I hope it all goes well for you, at least your body has done it before and knows what to do. I was only 2cm when I went in so at least you have a headstart there. Let us know how it goes.

one thing ive learned this time round tht 3rd babies cause alot of trouble in pregnancy thts all i seem to read about it lol

Have you thought about expectant management? It is your entitlement to wait but be regularly monitored instead.

Have you considered that with a bit more time the baby might move into the right position?

I was induced at 15 days over with my first. It was a positive experience for me, going from first twinge to delivery in 3 hours.

Sounds like as you are already a fair bit dilated that everything should move fast for you.

You don't need to be strapped to a bed. I spent a lot of the time on a ball, standing, etc, with the drip and monitor attached.
