Question about discharge in the run up to labour

With DS 1 I noticed a real increase in the amount of discharge I had in the week before labour started. Does this always happen or does it vary? I haven't had anything like that so I am wondering if that means I am no where near or if it doesn't really mean anything at all.

I had the same. MW advised that its for lubrication purposes to help the baby slither out Wink

Yes it is but I just wondered if I should be looking out for it again or if it might not happen the second time around.
