Knutsworth Suite consultants

Has anyone used any of the consultants at the Knutsworth Suite at Watford General other than Mr Sheridan ? I have seen a lot of posts about Mr Sheridan but would be interested in those who have seen alternatives to him, and whether they had positive experiences.

Also, is it true if you have a private C section, you are not allowed on the nhs ward afterwards ? Do they monitor you sufficiently post op in a private room ?

Thanks !

I had Mr Sheridan and his midwife Sarah Denning. Whilst Mr Sheridan is fantastic it is actually Sarah who is the star of the show and he's the only consultant who has a dedicated midwife which is why people want him.

I saw Mr Boret a few times for gynae related issues and found him to be rude, dismissive and arrogant and filed a complaint against him. However, he's quite popular although a friend also had a less than positive experience with him.

I have friends who have used the 2 whose names I can't remember and have been very complimentary about both of them.

Yes, if you have a private c/section you are not allowed on the NHS postnatal ward afterwards but other than for financial reasons I can't imagine why anyone would choose to go on the ward when they don't have to. The Knutsford Suite is off the postnatal ward and has its own staff and having been both and NHS patient there and a private one there's no comparison.

Sorry I meant to say that I have used the 2 ladies whose names I can't remember.

In answer to your question about whether you're monitored sufficiently post op the answer is 100% yes. As I said, you're next to the postnatal ward, there are only 6 rooms and the Knutsford has its own postnatal staff. I had someone coming into me every 2 hours day and night after a straightforward delivery to check on me and who also came in and sat with me throughout the night to help me breastfeed. Mr Sheridan also came in to see me 3 times in less than 24 hours to check on me and the anaesthetist also came in to check me twice, once before she went home and once the next day.

Hi,
I can highly reccommend Mr Boret, he has delivered 2 of my children by C-section and is about to deliver my 3rd i find him to be really personable and also extremely professional. After the op i have made a speedy and pain free recovery. I have also recommended a number of friends for gynae/pregnancy issues who have all raved about him. One friend was told at a Middx NHS hosp that her tubes were blocked but he reassured her after seeing her notes that they were not. Im pleased to say she is now 7 months pregnant so it was well worth paying to see him for a consultation.

I last stayed at the Knutsford Suite about 7 years ago but understand it has all been refurbished. It is great to have a private room and dedicated midwifes looking after you, well worth the money.
