Avoidance - need a kick up the bottom

I have bought loads and been prepared for ages, I put an emergency hospital bag in my car when I was 26 weeks.

But I wrote my list for my actual hospital bag and babies bag about 4 weeks ago (i'm now 38 weeks) and for some reason still haven't packed it, i think somewhere in my crazy mind i'm thinking if i don't pack it i won't have to go through the birth...

Anyone else putting it to the back of their mind? I'm desperate to meet my baby but not looking forward to the birth.

I was still in denial right up until baby was plonked on my chest . Fortunately, I am also anally retentive and a bit of a control freak so I got everything packed weeks in advance. But I do know what you mean (kind of like how I deal with spiders - if I can't see them then they don't exist) .

Here's the kick up the bottom: GET THE BAG PACKED!!!!!! YOU WILL FEEL BETTER WHEN YOU DO!!!!

BTW - I didn't need three quarters of the stuff I took in with me. Got laughed at for bringing in a suitcase - but in my defense by the time I'd packed the two bath towels and two pillows that the hospital said I had to bring, a change of clothing for me and for DH, emergency snacks and box of choccies for the MWs that was 2/3 of a suitcase filled....

I was awful at doing bags - specially with no2 as packed it the daybefore my ELCS!!

Not great but it's top of my list for tomorrow lol.
I have however addressed and stamped all my Christmas cards which is far more important...eek

I finally packed my bag today! Yay me - due date Tuesday lol

My due date is wednesday and I only packed my bags last week

I'm in major avoidance, I think. Am 39 weeks and planning a homebirth, but because baby was breech for several weeks, I sort of mentally shelved it and presumed a hospital birth. Now he's turned and engaging, and am I preparing? Am I bugger!

Today, we finally got out to Argos and bought a cheap duvet and shower curtain for the floor. The bag (for HB or hospital) is partly ready, but has only been that way for a couple of weeks if that.

I thought i'd feel much better when it was packed, turns out now i just feel like i've got nothing left to do and i'm twiddling my thumbs.
