Postnatal vaginal surgery and sex...

I've posted in loads of threads about this. Basically I had a very traumatic first birth in May: 3a degree tear, manual placenta removal and PPH. I then had rectocele and perineal revision surgery in August. That op was 15 weeks ago. Surgeon said I'm "anatomically perfect" but quite scared to dtd. I've been having physio and am 3/5 of the way through my very creepy set of dilators. Those of you who have been unfortunate like me to have had vaginal surgery after delivery, how long did you wait to have sex again and did it hurt like hell?

hiya. unfortunately i also had 3rd degree tear which did take a long time to heal. tbh only really tried after 6 months and it was very painful even then. i actually had ultrasound treatment on the scar tissue by the physio which helped as there were some very lumpy sore areas inside. (tmi i know) i would say it took about 12 months for it to feel ok again but it could be less than this for you. i think everyones healing is different and its good new that the surgeon thinks ur ok. good luck.
