Hi ladies. I had my LO just over 8 weeks ago. I only breastfed for a week, and so had my period quite early, at about 5 weeks. I started having sex (gently as had an episiotomy) at 6 weeks. I have been unable to go for my 6 wk check up, firstly due to a chest infection, and now due to over a foot of snow.

2 days ago I started getting a bit of dark red blood. Not much, just spotting. However. yesterday and today and has been very dark. Was just wondering if this is normal, or something I really need to get checked out. Thanks.

My experience of have three births, as long as you are bleeding to bad, and dont have bad tummy etc, everything should be fine

It takes a long time for body to get over birth, and first few weeks, are a bit more dramatic with blood loss, and irregular.

Unless youve got pain, i wouldnt worry about it, however, if it is really worrying you contact GP, or even a midwife on call etc, my midwife was amazing, and would of happily given me advice over phone even if you have be passed on to HV by now

And congrats on lil one :)
