Yesterday night I had cramping just about all night, and was up at 6:45 with a heat pack to make it stop. Throughout the day, walking was painful, and the idea of eating made me nauseous. I got occassional contractions which were powerful although not particularly painful, and by dinner time I had sufficient cramp that I took paracetamol, used the heat pack again and just about refused to move all evening. The day before I'd had regular but non-painful contractions.

I braced myself for a long night. And then I woke up this morning and... nothing. No cramp, no contractions, my abdomen feels looser and easier to deal with than it has for weeks. I slept till 5:30 before having to get up to wee, and I could even turn over during the night without either careful coordination or pulling a muscle in my abdomen.

I can't decide if my body just knows I don't want to give birth today as it's a distressing anniversary or whether there's something else going on. It's disconcerting, in any case. Talk about mixed messages! (I'm 40+4, btw, so not worryingly late yet.)

Anyone else had this?

I've had 2 evenings where I did think things might be getting moving, with similar symptoms to you and then it all just went away. I reckon my body is taking "practicising" quite seriously. Wink

I'm only 37+2 but am hoping baby arrives a bit early so we can avoid induction (I've got OC).
