Baby back to back - more painful?

Is this a considerably more painful labour? DS was back to back and it hurt, obviously (all backache, no pains in my bump at all), but does this mean that if this next baby's not back to back, it will be easier?

Apparently. I had a back to back and it hurt like billy-o. To be avoided at all costs!
When are you due Hunker? And how did I miss that you are pregnant?! Doh!!

My second labour was a dream... The other two were posterior. i honestly didn?t think that I could possibly be in established labour with so little discomfort. I hope this is true for you as well.

I did spend the last three weeks of my pg with DS2 on my hands and knees trying to turn the little monkey but to no avail and my labour with him was 90% in my back and really uncomfortable. He was born face up and didn?t actually turn until his shoulders were lodged in my pelvis and then he gave an almighty shrug. Hope #4 is kinder to me.

DS1 was back-to-back and DS2 wasn't. DS2's labour/birth was definitely easier but it's difficult to judge whether this was due to his position since he was also 2lbs lighter...

dd1 and dd2 weren't back to back - 24hr & 8 hr labour. ds1 and ds2 were both back to back, more uncomfortable during last few weeks of pregancy but only in labour for 2 hrs (only just got to hospital) and about an hr with ds 2(didn't get to hospital in time!)

Hunkermunker, ds2 was posterior (turned during a slow induced labour, bless him!) it was a horrible long labour and I was on the verge of a section (ie prepped) when I went on all fours to get the gown out and he finally made an appearance, face up. When I had dd 22months later, she was anterior and my labour progressed much better and quite quickly. Unfortunately once my waters went it was apparent she was coming chin first and we had to slow everything down.

This time I have a rather flat fronted bump and an anterior placenta so I reckon this little boy is back to back too!
