Right - am 39+5 and am so fed up! Am probably reading too much into the old wifes' tales but thought I would try to help baby on its way.

So i've tried:

  • eating spicy food
  • bouncing on the birthing ball
  • walking (although I don't get too far due to pains!)
  • pineapple
  • jumping on DP when he gets home Wink

So far... nothing.

Anyone got any other ideas?

foot massage and evening primrose oil. was holding ds 12 hours after two capsules!

think the foot massage had a similiar effect to reflexology

he was 4 days early as a result

Acupuncture (from someone who specialises in this particular area!) - less likely to work if you've not had a course over a few weeks, but I think it definitely helped tilt me over the edge.

Ultimately things will only tip you over if you're getting there anyway. Chill out, its only a few more days regardless.

(says she who went to 42 weeks and can remember the pain....)

How about Clary Sage essential oil? I think that is supposed to help bring on labour. DD was 2 weeks late and it was the only thing I didn't try. Got myself a bottle of it ready and waiting (I'm 35+5). Good luck!

It'll only work if you book tickets for something you DO mind missing Smile

AbiAbi · 23/11/2010 19:17

My tickets for last Saturdays showing of Harry Potter can testify to that - booked them Tues morning as a surprise for DD and DH, DS2 arrived at 5.21am on Wednesday Smile

Good luck, it wont be long now!
