False Starts - All in the Mind ??

Almost 38 weeks on Dc3 and I was induced on both previous DC's ( 39 +1 and 39+3) so have never had the experience of going into labour naturally.

I have been having lots of BH and strong pressure but am beginning to drive my self mad that thinking that I am going to go early. I don't remember any of these things happening before so I don't feel as if I know my body properly ifykwim.

Did most of you have false starts or have yourselves convinced that something was happening even though it wasn't Grin

I am going through the exact same thing; have spent the last 2 weeks convincing myself I am about to go into labour. I did start naturally last time as well so it isn't even like I haven't done it before (but that time my waters broke before contractions started, so when I did start getting pains I knew they must be the real thing).

Well I don't believe in false starts or 'active' labour. If you're having lots of BH and pressure then this is it.

What I can't say is how long it will take, but I do know that often the more you have early on, the faster and easier the hard bit.

IMO you WANT a week or two of slow comfortable labour and 30mins of the hard stuff, more than you want 18 hours of pain Grin
