Heavy cold/sinus infection during labour?

I'm 40 weeks today and have been fighting a cold for days. Feel like it's in my sinuses today. I'm worried I'll go into labour and not be able for it.

This is my second birth and I'm hoping for a vbac. Doctors have said they are happy for me to go 6 days over but no more because I've diabetes and Addison's disease (rare illness)

Any advice?

If you do have an infection you need antibiotics - they kick in really fast. otherwise a little Otrivine nasal spray is ok for stuffiness and paracetamol. Hopefully it will pass quickly.

Sorry to contradict but if it is cold then antibiotics will do nothing. Cold is a viral infection and antibiotics treat bacterial infections.

In the case of cold (and flu for that matter) its a case of time is a great healer unfortunately. Only real way to deal is to treat the symptoms so nasal spray and paracetamol like Chynah said.

Sorry.

Get well soon tho and good luck :)
