Who would have thought it would become necessary to create this term and then legislate for it.

One of my midwives told me that a friend of hers who is Brazilian and is planning a natural birth is being completely bullied by her family back home into a CS because they had never known anyone not to have a CS and were convinced that a natural birth is impossible... this is because the CS rate amongst private patients there (which is a huge number not like here) is around 90%. Amongst women in the public health system it is around 40/50% too... so there is hardly any culture of midwifery etc. Perhaps Venezuela is similar or heading in that direction.
