Hiya,

For those of you that have been in conversation with me recently, just to update you that on the 27th October 2010 I gave birth to a beautiful baby girl! She weighed 8lb 9 (so much for carrying a small baby!!)

Labour:

I had been 2-3cm ish dilated the week up to giving birth, strong braxton hicks and also contractions that just didnt regulate (no pain at all)

The on Wednesday 27th I had a bit of a tummy ache but nothing to report on, sat on my birth ball and thought my back was aching. then at 4pm my DP got home from work and i said i need to get some fresh air, so we popped to the shop (were planning on watching a DVD!) then i said we need to go, got to his sisters (birth partner too) and she said yep, she's having it i can see it in her eyes! this was 5:15.

Got to the hospital at 6:30pm......... used my breathing, and some gas & air to help regulate this... then she was born very quck a 8:33pm! I found the height of the contractions the worse bit, pushing the head out was fine, MW said she was amazed how i managed it panting well etc, breathing. Then then her body followed at this point i did tear slightly but didnt hurt, i delivered the placenta naturally. had stitches - didnt feel this.

All was well, until about 30mins later when i lost a lot of blood 1000mls, so hadto be transferred to observation, stay in for 2 days.

BUT

I am so lucky to have such a beautiful & content baby daughter! My DP and SIL did a great job supporting me through the labour and i am so thankful!!

I honestly couldnt believe my eyes when i didnt see a little winky!! :O

She is nearly 2 weeks old now, "thriving" and i feel ok too, had my tears but only to be expected. my tummy has luckily gone right down, stilla teeny bit there. got my few stretchmarks (babylines) but i am proud.

I honestly can't believe she came out of me, and i got her out safe :)
