Would a bath help or make them stop altogether?

Sleep?

Anything?

If they're the real thing a bath won't stop them.

Are you tired? If so, take a bath, have a small glass of wine and go to bed. You may as well sleep through some of the boring stuff. Relaxing might just help. I went to sleep with contractions every 5 mins or so and woke up in active labour with only a few more hours to go.

Tomorrow (assuming it hasn't kicked off properly) take a walk, bounce on a ball, stay upright as much as you can. Remember to eat, drink and pee regularly.

Good luck - hope it all goes smoothly.
