I was in hospital both times but am now expecting no.3 very soon and wondering if they might break on their own!

DD1 - in hospital, just after being examined.

DD2 - In bed. The popping sensation woke me uup, then I felt a warm and wet sensation!

I was chilling out on my bed in my pj's using my computer, and as my waters broke 5 weeks early I decided to google "have my waters broken" as I wasn't sure what was going on!

With DS midwife broke them after 24 hours labour - only a trickle came out. Another 12 hours before baby was born.

With DD I was kneeling up leaning against the back of the bed in hospital when there was a really loud pop and a huge gush. The midwife was down below and screamed with the shock of it! Baby came within 10 minutes of them breaking.

In the shower - how convenient! Still pleased about that... :)

In Bed. The new mattress protector was in the washing machine.
Did make it to the toilet just in time.

In the pub having dinner with my in laws! Was just a trickle though so I wasn't sure what was going on at first...! DD was born about 12 hours later

In my living room, and I'd only just had the carpet cleaned! With dc 1 and 2 they didn't break until I was in hospital. This time they broke 24 hours before labour started, all over my carpet and sofa!

At the pub eating Sunday lunch with ALL my in-laws!

lindy100 · 04/11/2010 07:36

Jessie - exactly the same, though I had to wait 6 days :(

As I was getting out of the car to stagger into hospital! My poor dad (who had been kind enough to drive me in) had to endure me moaning that I was sorry for making a mess in his car Grin

DS was born literally five mintues later Shock

on the loo!

(but i was sat on the loo having contractions, determined to have a poo before going to hospital)

i did leave a trail of it as they wheeled me into hospital though Blush pad malfunction. sorry TMI.

with dd1 they went when I stood up off the hospital bed - she was born 10 hours later

dd2 - whilst I was preparing to transfer to hospital for failure to progress from a home birth - she was born about an hour later and only half an hour after I got to hospital.

dd3 (just last week) waters went just as dp and I were about to sit down to eat in Nando's. Just a trickle at that point luckily. Then no labour at all - was induced after 30 hours. However, waters continued to gush every time I moved between them breaking and me being induced. Just wondered if anybody knows if the amniotic fluid continues to regenerate once they have broken?

First time, in Church at a wedding, I stood up to sing a hymn Blush. I was so miffed at missing the lovely wedding feast afterwards.

Second time, queuing in A and E for my DH's medication (which he had left at home and was too busy at work to fetch). I was at the hospital anyway to be induced so was making use of the time by nipping to casualty.
