Hi

Pretty certain all or part of my waters went at 12.20 this morning, had pains on & off through out night. Didn't get much sleep, then from 5-7am the pains became more regular & uncomfortable. Went to loo (TMI) and had big show. Then it all stopped!!! I've been on birthing ball & am going to go up & down stairs lots. But just wondering whether I can have a sweep as I'm due to see my midwife today at 11.30 (will phone to bring it forward) so was going to ask to see if favourable for sweep. But will they do one if waters gone????
This is DC2, DS1 waters went in the night & pains started straight away & didn't stop till he was born 44hours later by emer csect so this is a bit new to me & I'm praying that it's not a repeat of my last labour!!
Thank you x

Yes they can. They gave me one when my waters went (without my permission...I thought I was just being checked for dilation). Caused me a few problems though, baby was distressed after that.

Thanks so much for quick response Cheese. It's just so annoying for it all to start & then stop!!! Was being really calm & controlled, I didn't even tell my DH till he got up at 6am!!! Knew that although the pains were uncomfy they get much worse so thought I'd try & keep it all in controll!!!
Still leaking waters though......so attractive!!

With DD my waters went at 1am but I didn't go into labour until the next day then had her in the afternoon after about a 3 and a half hour labour. Ds1 my waters went during labour at 8cms I think and with ds2 after leaking early in pregnancy they finally went properly at 39 weeks, about 5am. I tried to sleep and managed to until around 7 or 8 and went into hospital about 9am. Had him after a one hour and ten minute labour!

Keep active to try and encourage contractions and good luck! Won't be long until your baby arrives :o I'm 32 weeks tomorrow myself.

CG, just been to midwife & the head has popped out!! Also my temperature is border line for infection, so I've got to go to hospital at 6pm to be monitored & to take a swab. Because I'm a vbac my midwife isn't sure if they'll induce me or just book me in for a csect. I don't like the idea of being in hospital on my own knowing that in the morning I'm going for a csect!!! Hospital is just over an hour away from home, but my DH will stay in a hotel at end of hospital road unless they'll let him stay with me in hospital!!!
Thanks for advice, got sneaky feeling my body doesn't do labour very well!!

Oh no! hope you don't get hotter and don't get a full on infection. You never know, keep thinking labour thoughts and it may still happen, you have some hours yet! If not then either way you'll have a baby soon :o Good luck!! I'm so excited for you :o
