hello there ladies, i never had bh with ds. 2 weeks ago i had my regular mw appt and she asked if i get bh often to which i replied 'i dont get bh' she pointed out that i was having 1 there and then, i suppose because they are not painful or uncomfortable at all i just dismissed them. anyway now i know. the past few hours i have been getting them every 15 mins or so. still pain free. could they turn into real contractions? is this it? or is it more wishful thinking on my part? any advice or your own experiences welcome thanks

one way to tell is to have a warm bath, this will stop bh, if it's true labour, it may slow down but will pick up again after bath.

HTH. :)

oh dear i never seem to be text book with anything! baths seem to bring on bh for me. every night iv been getting them after bath and thinking 'is this it' but nothing until last night when it carried on. iv had a horrendous night with really bad hip/groin pain. this morning i can barely walk. my whole bump feeling achy and bruised and constantly solid. my waters broke last time with no contractions and i was induced so im not entirely sure what to look out for. off to hospital later for vbac appt to decided on elcs or induction if i go past due date. il chat to mw then about whats going on, if baby doesnt decide to come sooner!! Smile

good luck, I was going to say if you are really uncomfortable, might be worth going to get checked anyway.

Let us know how you get on. :)

went for vbac clinic earlier and had a sweep so fingers crossed things will move along nicely. mw didnt think they were full contractions.

i had a membrane sweep 2days ago and last nyt i had strong contractions every 2mins 4 12hrs but was only 2cm dilated so i chose 2 go home, they went away alday now there back again 2nyt, dont know wot 2 do if it reli is coming or just because of the sweep, just want this baby out now.

ilovefirelighters · 28/10/2010 13:17

sorry wasnt in much of a chatty mood last night.
i went to the clinic, like i said and explained what i had been feeling. mw thought maybe bh.
i was going to be having a membrane sweep anyway yesterday alswell as a meeting talking through my options if i go overdue, as im atempting vbac. iv opted to be induced at 12 days over on 9th nov.
mw said the sweep went very well, it was easily done, (not so easy for me), my cervix is ready and im 1.5cm dilated.
no contractions through the night but today still the odd painful twinge. slow progress maybe?! everythings ready and in place we just need our baby.
iv got a community mw appt this afternoon at 3pm. pammy21 are you there? how are you getting on?

have you had kids before? my mw said my cervix was 2cm because it hasnt fully closed since my last ones. still having contractions on and off, feeling reli peed off now, as u probably r to. i recon it was the ssweep that has started them off, surley that means cant be that far off now.

ilovefirelighters · 28/10/2010 18:42

yes i have 1 ds. i knew that the cervix doesnt close but i thought 1.5cm still sounded quite a lot, apperently not as i found out this afetrnoon and its quite normal. im still getting on/off contractions and although people have told me before that if they go away then they are bh, mw has told me today thats not always the case and that it could be very early labour that just hasnt established a pattern yet. joy!! i wish it would. was only saying to dh early its weird wishing your body in pain!!! i had these about 20hrs before my sweep and i thought that maybe the sweep would hurry up the contractions, obviously not. my lo has its own plan. just like its mother!!!
