Pain under c-section scar 4 months on

Had DD 15 weeks ago by elective cs. DS was born by emergency c-section 2 1/2 years ago. Healed well after both.
I've had quite a lot of pain internally under the scar area for quite a while. I mentioned it to the doctor at my 8 week check (that's when they could fit in the 6-week check!) and he said the scar was fine. The pain isn't in the actual scar but underneath - internally.

I was wondering if anyone has had any experience of this. Should I get back to see the doctor or is it to be expected.

My em cs scar still hurt a bit after 5 months, although I was running at the time so I hadn't helped myself!

If it's a lot of pain then I'd see a GP if I were you.

My CS scar is still occasionally painful after 28 weeks - however, I have problems with mine as it is still open Shock after all this time so I am not sure what is normal TBH. I woulf arrange an appointment with your GP to get it checked.

Thanks for coming back to me. Its not the scar that's painful. The scar has healed well and is not not causing any problems. The pain is inside underneath the scar - I'm assuming where they stiched up various other layers.

Negril, I've had loads of pain under my cs scar, it was also my second. I have a theory it's because a) I was on my feet after only 12 hours instead of 24 as I was with the first, and b) of course being at home post birth with a toddler meant I got no rest at all. I had very strong burning pain for quite a while, a mw told me it was probably muscle pain. As I had no fever they weren't too troubled. 10 months on it's still a little tender occasionally if my jeans slip a little too low.

I had tenderness under my cs scar for I would estimate at least 2.5 years. I wouldn't have described it as pain though.

I had the same experience and went to my GP who was very dismissive. A year later it turned out I had a large ovarian cyst, that must have developed during that year as it definitely wasn't there when I had my c section! So while it wasn't the internal / external scar, there was a problem. If you're convinced something is not right, push for a referral to a gynaecologist.
