It's great that the overwhelming response is that second births are asier Smile Can I ask those of you that found your second labour easier - what is the age difference between your DCs?

I am pregnant with my second but will have a 5.5 year age gap. First birth ended in an EMCS after a failed ventouse. Just wondering if my body will recognise that it has been through labour before or if it was so long ago that it will be like a first labour all over again?

3.5 yr gap. they would have been closer in age (we were aiming for a 2.5 yr gap) but nature had other ideas and i lost 2 in between.

nearly 3 years, very good second time... I don't know about my body remembering or otherwise, but I was certainly much calmer.

My body did keep remembering how to be fat afterwards tho, but that's a whole other story [hgrin]

Good to know that you had good second labours with a gap of a few years. We also wanted a much smaller age gap Lucykate but nature also had other ideas for us Sad

Stickylittlefingers - our bodies sound similar Grin

I have been wondering this; I am almost 39 weeks with baby no.2 but an almost 8 year age gap! DS was a couple of days early so am ready and waiting especially as its a full moon this weekend and that is supposed to help.
