c-section after pains.....adhesions?

I had a c section 4 weeks ago and seemed to be healing well.but I am having real pain just on the left hand side about 5 cm above my scar.It gets worse after I walk (I hobbled out of the supermarket today!)

I spoke to my doctor who told me to take paracetamol and see how it is in a few days.

I have been reading about adhesion and it really scared me! has any one got any experience ??

IMHO ( 2 cs's and a hysterectomy) it is still healing. Take it very easy for a few days and see how it goes.

I did too much after my first cs and was on painkillers for weeks.

I was off paracetamol 4 days after my hysterectomy as I rested. It makes a massive difference.

A few days of rest should hopefully sort you out Smile.

I am not a doctor and have no experience of adhesions but I had to reply to say that it has only been 4 weeks and a c-section is major surgery. You are possibly overdoing it. I wouldn't have been doing a supermarket shop 4 weeks after my section - no way! Take it easy for a good few more weeks.

After my section I was up and about as soon as I was allowed out of bed (24hrs). I had pains at both sides of my scar and was told it was healing and just a bit tight. It's eased off now although when it's cold it nips a bit.

thanks for your replies.

the pain is above the incision and just on the left hand side, maybe I am doing too much and need to rest more (have a 16 month old dd so not easy).

I guess I just want to know that this sort of pain is normal and not a complication. lots of people seem to get back to normal very quickly!

Hi Stilldazed,

I had a c-section a week and a half ago and am having pain in the same area you describe.
I've been back to see my consultant as it didn't feel right (i.e. the usual scar ache, muscle pain and bruised feeling).

Perhaps you should go back to your doctor if a few days of proper rest doesn't help?
Definitely put your feet up and get as much sleep as you can for a while though, even if it doesn't resolve the mystery pain it'll mnake you feel clearer about the next steps in treating it!

Good luck.
