Maternal nerve damage

I'm curious to know whether anyone else had nerve damage following birth. I had a forceps delivery after a long second stage and when the epidural wore off I didn't have much sensation (some pins and needles) in my right lower leg and couldn't bend my foot up. At first I assumed that it was the epidural, but the anaethestists say it is nerve compression. I had quite a limp for a few weeks (wasn't steady enough to stand with my baby) and 6 weeks on it is mostly better but still a bit numb feeling. I am sure it will be fine.

Haven't had it myself but my Grandmother did back in the 50's, back then it was called 'white leg'!! I think it occurs in about one in 2000 births, so fairly rare but not totally unheard of.
My grans was completely better after a few months. Hope yours gets better asap too!
