hi all - am exactly 39 weeks - have had baby head down in pelvis for sometime although it is very heavy as the days go by - is it possible to know if these intense movements could start things or could they go on for sometime - thanks...

one thins for sure - your baby will be likely here within the next few weeks!

I think baby can be head down and engaged for a while before labour, what does your midwife say?

ds was engaged for 4 weeks until he arrived finally at 41 weeks. i feel your pain though those achy heavy intense pressure is not nice. im also exactly 39 weeks but baby isnt engaged yet. they can always come back out again too so dont think its really a sign. sorry being in the same boat time wise we clutch to anything thats a green light to meet our babies dont we? Smile

I'm 39 weeks tomorrow and feel really heavy down there too. Sadly as this is my 3rd baby is guarenteed to be back up under my ribs tonight. So you have my sympathy - But we will all have our babies in 3 weeks max.

I'm 39 weeks on tuesday and have the same feelings, though like xavielli, this is my 3rd, and I often feel her kicking under my ribs too.....I have been having period like pains on and off for the last couple weeks and have been on edge wanting it to just get on and happen already! I don't think I can wait 3 more weeks!!! the MIL is arriving tomorrow evening and she'll stay for the half term. I need baby to come whilst I don't have to worry about the other 2 DC's or school runs.....I've officially given baby #3 her marching orders.....
