birth pools - what does "1-use" actually mean?

Hi, me and a neighbour are chipping in together to buy a birth pool as our due dates are within a few weeks. The birth-pool-in-a-box website has a dropdown menu to choose what parts of the kit you want. On this menu the pool is called a 1-use pool. It doesn't seem to say anything about the number of uses anywhere else on the website.

Is there any reason why the pool can't be used more than once?

at a guess maybe it isn't designed to withstand cleaning products/ wont clean well enough to use twice?

Does it only come with one liner? If that's the case you can buy secondary ones for about £25 each. Also check out eBay as I just sold my unused one on there for just over £100. Cost a lot more originally. Might be a few bargains.

Thanks. I had read on a couple of other threads about folk reusing BPIaB, just wondered if there was something we were missing on the website. The 20-use one is a lot more expensive.

Check out La Bassine birth pools too, I think they may be a bit cheaper than BPIaB. All you need is a new liner. The 20 use ones are more for community midwives etc.

They're probably just only guaranteed for one use, the 20-use ones must be more robust. I've got a one-use one that has done 4 births so far (each one with a new liner) with no problem, and I plan to carry on lending it out until it busts (giving a full disclaimer to everyone I lend it to of course). I believe it'll keep going strong for some time unless anyone is careless with it.
