getting tummy muscles repaired whilst having CS after Diastasis Recti

Just wanted to know if anyone has ended up having their separated tummy muscles repaired (sewn back together) at the same time as having a CS?

I had really bad separation and am still very unhappy about the degree to which it remains despite exercise and time passing. If I have another child there is a chance we would be advised and opt for a CS due to 3rd degree tear and damage to anal sphincter muscle. (I had a jolly time overall eh?!)

IF I decided to go with this, and we were sure it would be last pregnancy, is it easy to combine and do-able on NHS? Or does it depend on many factors, and if so, what experiences has anyone had?

Lastly, does it really work? What does tummy look like after? I am not after a sculpted Hollywood tummy, but something that looks vaguely normal!

Thanks for any thoughts...

The only way of repairing is with tummy tuck. They sew all your muscles back together right up to under your boobs and then take away all the excess skin/fat. I had one after my third pregnancy and it changed my life. I looked about 6 months pregnant still. I had it done when the twins were 10 months old. As i lost the weight my belly just became more and more prominent. I was down to my normal weight of 9st by the time I had the op. I tried personal trainer and gym first but my muscles made no move towards rejoining at all. My GP tried referring me to have it done on NHS and was refused so I had it done privately. I got pregnant unexpectedly last year (naturally after 9 rounds of IVF!) and tummy held together with no pain in muscles and no tearing. Ended up with neat bump (much smaller than other three pregnancies) and a huge suprise when baby weighed in at 9lbs 9oz! HTH
