Anybody not actually realise they were in labour?

Sounds silly but got to be asked!

I didn't with my 5th. I was overdue and had been getting pains but they felt like the pains I had been getting when I needed a poo. After I went to the toilet they still carried on. At this point I kept an eye on them and realised they were coming at a regular time. .
Then I started getting really bad pressure down there on and off. When I timed them they were regular but didn't feel like contractions I'd had in previous pregnancies.
I've never been as embarrassed as the moment i rang the hospital and said it's my 5th pregnancy but I don't know whether I'm in Labour or not.

i think so!! i was already in hospital with high bp...they decided to induce me but upon examination before induction i was told i was 2cm dilated!! 8 hours later (still no pain, just braxton hicks) i was 3cm...they broke my waters then and i went into LABOUR which i DEFINITELY knew about!!

My auntie never felt labour pains, just a dull back ache!

I thought I had food poisoning . I didn't realise I was in labour as I didn't have contractions, just one continuous pain. The pain eventually got so bad that I finally decided that I was either in labour or there was something seriously wrong so I went to hosital to discover I was 5cm dilated!! My DD was born 6 hours later. :)

With my 2nd I thought I had trapped wind! until i realised that the wind was coming every 3 mins. I actually phoned dh and said 'dont rush home but i might be in labour'
Dh sensibly called MIL who hared it over to my house and insisted on rushing me to hospital. i got there 20 mins later and 10cms dilated!
dh legged it in the door just as ds2 was born!
