I'm fed up already on day 10 of 42. It stings and my stomach is covered in tiny bruises. Of course its better than DVT but I wish they had a better way of doing it!

yes, congrats on your baby.

I inject clexane twice daily (am 26 weeks pregnant) and do it into my thigh which is easier than into my tum. I was on tinzaparin - I think clexane's worse as the needles are bigger. Worth a try in your thighs though - good luck Smile

Its not the needle that hurts it's the liquid! MW said I has doing well only to have tiny bruises but id rather not do it!

Nearly time again now ...

Try to do it after a bath or warm shower
Seems to help

DancingCat · 18/10/2010 20:50

only trying to help. Ruby's advice is good, or a warm flannel before you inject.

nymphadora · 18/10/2010 21:42

Ok maybe start doing it in the am

I was on it for 10 months last time I was pregnant and same again this time - down to once a day (40mg) and will be on it to 6 weeks post delivery. That's a LOT of injections! I ice my tum/bump first and hardly feel it.

lisad123isgoingcrazy · 19/10/2010 00:02

I did it during my pregnancy then 6 weeks after. Gosh it stings but found it easier at top of legs and doesnt bruise as badly if you push liquid though slowly.
HTH

only had it whilst in hospital post CS so only 1 jab for a couple of days each time - stings though so do feel for you.

nymphadora · 19/10/2010 06:55

Ok those of you who had it through pg get my sympathy! I thought 6 weeks was bad!

yes and I'm on 2 a day and have been all the way through my pregnancy ( baby is 5 weeks) can't wait to finish have 5 days left!
this the second pregnancy on it so I'm kind of used to it. I find it much less painful in my tummy.
