Please Help Us Re-Open The Grange Midwife Led Unit, Petersfield, Hants

We support the Grange Birth Centre in Petersfield and oppose its temporary closure [25 September 2010 - 09 January 2011]. We believe expectant parents should have choices about where to give birth. Midwife Led Units provide excellent care for women in normal labour and afterwards in the early days with a newborn baby.

Please sign our online petition to re-open the Grange on 9th January 2011 as promised by Portsmouth NHS.

Will be watching this with interest as we're in a similar position with Blake in Gosport. Although it won't effect me, as it will be reopened, I do truly sympathise with all the ladies left in this position.

My Ds was born at Blake, and it is my intention to have this baby there. It was a totally different experience to when I had my DD at St Mary's. It was like a home away from home.

I will sign the petition as I do feel they two subjects are linked. [selfish emoticon] I do have this horrible sinking feeling that we're being fobbed off and neither will reopen though.
