I am seeing my GP in 1.3 hrs and I am completely lost where I want to go for birth!!! I went to see Queen Charlotte, ok-ish, I really liked the birthing centre at St Mary but their main ward didn't look nice. St Thomas and UCH didn't let me come and see, but I saw the private unit at St Thomas and got an impression, all looks good but it's the furtherst for me.
St Mary and Hammersmith were both rated horrible in a Telegraph review back in 2008, St Thomas very well, UCH - fair...
I am absolutely lost now!!! Can anyone comment?
Did anyone see any other reviews articles which are more recent??
Please help!!!!

Is the Queen Charlotte next to Scrubs?

My SIL had a not so great experience there earlier this year... not deadly but she wasn't impressed with the care or midwives.

Prob too late and yr on yr way to the GP but why not Chelsea & Westminster? I've had 4 with C & W, 3 there and 1 with their homebirth team. The first three labours were all fairly traumatic for different reasons and the labour midwives were FANTASTIC every time. Another plus for C & W in my book is that I've never waited more than 10 mins for an appt including scans which I know from friends is rare amongst London hospitals.

Postnatally, like all London hospitals they've had issues of understaffing and abrupt 'care' which they're trying to deal with - given the state I'm in postnatally, they'd be hard pressed to give me enough kid-glove care in my book (I'm too nervous to wait my turn) hence I had the last baby at home. I genuinely think that's as much to do with the state I'm in post-birth the understaffing. C & W also has fab cafes etc close by for supplementing hospital food which Charlotte's certainly doesn't have.
